STUDIO

Created by Oana Mureșan (choreographer and dancer) in 2022, OM studio is a choreographic center born from the need to explore the cognitive and affective complexities of dance and to shed new light on the process and production of this type of movement in space and time, more precisely on its performative quality and expressive dimension. OM Choreographic Center provides a comprehensive mechanism for exploring dance languages through an active approach (production and dance courses) and a generative one (research and residencies).

When one moves, they either do it with a purpose or they play. Through the body, we touch, but also contain, record, recall, and recreate memories, narratives, and meaning both for ourselves and for others. If the movement of the body in dance captures the sensual and porous texture of experience, then dance functions as an effervescent vibration based on continuous change in rhythmic and intentional sequences, in which the body is pushed to create, secrete, excrete, and curve the critical points where reality and the virtual become complementary.

OM studio is the first independent center in Cluj-Napoca dedicated to contemporary dance and contemporary choreographic research.
